shadowingは医学・臨床教育ではよく行われている。

忙しい臨床現場をみることの教育的効果もあるが、学習者が受動的になり、見た内容を解釈し、理解するための時間が必要であり、それに対する教育者からのフィードバックが生じにくい。

そのため、以下の６つのことが改善に寄与するのではないかと提案。

・学習の目標を学習者と相談して明確化する。

・学習者に実践の機会を持たせ、直接観察する時間を設ける。

・臨床推論を行う際に、学習者にも取り組ませる。

・患者とあわせて、学習者にも教育する目的で、自分の考えを示すように発言する

・ロールモデルとしての振る舞い

・フィードバックを行う
